I live my life in widening circles
that reach out across the world.
I may not complete this last one
but I give myself to it.
I circle around God, around the primordial tower.
I've been circling for thousands of years
and I still don't know: am I a falcon,
a storm, or a great song?

I like this poem....the "widening circles' reminding me of the rings of a tree and how its life is recorded in those rings, adding new layers/rings throughout the changing seasons. Nice to think of people like that, too...Our lives and attitudes changing throughout the different seasons of life. Would be interesting to see our lives mapped out as tree rings, wouldn't it? One can see the climate conditions such as drought or plenty, as well as fires, etc., in tree rings. Wonder what our rings would show were we trees? Wishing you many more circles...good circles, Marjolein. Thank you for sharing this poem.
